Our approach
Nimara Technology Inc. is responsible for the personal information under our control. We collect only what we reasonably need to respond to inquiries, schedule conversations, deliver agreed work, meet our obligations, and protect our website.
This policy is intended to explain our practices under applicable Canadian privacy law, including Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act where it applies.
What we collect
Information you provide
- Your name, organization, email address, and optional phone number when you submit an inquiry.
- Scheduling information you provide when you book a free assessment through Calendly.
- Information contained in emails and other direct communications with Nimara.
- Business and engagement records needed to deliver work after you become a client.
Technical information
Our website host and security providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, referring page, and request time. This information helps deliver the website, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and maintain security.
Why we use information
- To respond to an inquiry or requested conversation.
- To determine whether Nimara is a suitable fit for the problem described.
- To prepare, administer, and deliver an agreed engagement.
- To communicate about work you requested or a relationship with Nimara.
- To meet legal, tax, accounting, insurance, and record-keeping obligations.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and our services.
Submitting an inquiry allows Nimara to respond to that inquiry. It does not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter or ongoing promotional email.
Service providers and processing outside Canada
We use a limited number of providers to operate the website and respond to you:
- Netlify hosts the website and processes website requests and technical logs.
- FormSubmit helps send inquiry-form details to Nimara by email.
- Calendly processes information used to schedule a free assessment.
- Email and productivity providers help us communicate and manage business records.
Some providers process or store information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information handled outside Canada may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that country. We remain responsible for selecting providers and limiting what we share with them.
We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and analytics
Nimara does not currently place advertising cookies or marketing pixels through this website. Our hosting and security providers may use essential technologies and technical logs needed to deliver and protect the site. If we add analytics or marketing technologies later, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by law.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry and scheduling information only as long as reasonably needed to respond, follow up, maintain appropriate business records, and resolve concerns. Client and transaction records may be kept longer when required by an agreement or by legal, tax, insurance, or professional obligations. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or securely dispose of it.
How we protect information
We use practical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information. These include limiting access, using reputable service providers, protecting accounts, and avoiding unnecessary collection. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may contact us to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you.
- Request access to information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual limits.
- Ask a question or raise a concern about our privacy practices.
We may need to confirm your identity before completing a request. Some information may need to be kept where the law or an agreement requires it.
